After closing Caritas for the night, Jolee made his way to the causeway. It was time. He had a portal to catch and a trail to cover up. He took one glance back at the island he called home for nearly two years and started walking.

Before long he was back on the Outer Rim of his galaxy, back in his own time. He had already taken care of the portal issue. He had a "conversation" with people from Portalocity to "help" them forget his coordinates in space and time after his final trip, and he desroyed the communicator he had connected to the Fandom Alumni Network.

From there, it was time to work on the old fashioned path. Fortunately, the way from this point in the galaxy to the Milky Way was only sporadically marked because it was used so infrequently. There were a few probes that helped guide travelers, and they were easy enough for Jolee to find and deactivate once he bought a shuttle. All in all, the entire process took Jolee about a week until he was convinced that he had done everything he could to prevent Darth Nihilus's forces from ever finding their way to Fandom. He had faith that the Force would protect the people of his most recent adopted home. And now he had to push aside his concern for his own galaxy while it had to deal with the current Sith threat because there were supposedly even greater dangers out there.

All Jolee had to do was figure out where in the galaxy Revan ended up so he could take on some hidden Sith Empire that was a greater threat than Nihilus. And just like that, Jolee Bindo's retirement was over.

[OOC: NFB, NFI. And Jolee's gone!

Since it's never made clear just what exactly Revan's doing with the whole True Sith thing in KOTOR II, I'm not really comfortable trying to write what Jolee will be dealing with, so he won't be staying on as an ex-pat. But I'm pretty sure he's going to die in battle against the True Sith! So, you know, at least the story has an ending. Not a happy one. But still.]

Jolee
Jolee was on his way to the bar tonight. This wasn't usually a terribly exciting trip. He just had to walk through a bunch of woods. Then eventually he'd be out on the road. And then it was a pretty short walk from there. It was quiet. He enjoyed it. But tonight, something broke the quiet. From out of nowhere, three beings Jolee hadn't sensed in the Force were rushing towards him holding pikes. He looked left as he felt four more suddenly appear. They were all dressed in black robes with masks covering their faces and they all radiated evil.

"I've got a bad feeling about this," Jolee said. It just felt like something that needed to be said.

Jolee pulled his lightsaber out of his robe, ignited it... and ran back towards his hut. He wasn't a damn fool! Those were terrible odds!

Cut for length and violence. )

[OOC: Preplayed with the amazing [info]momslilassassin/[info]sith_happened, [info]weetuskenraider, and [info]trickster_twin. Minor OCD coming up. Not for interaction unless the people listed before want to play in the aftermath thread.

ETA: Now without a cut tag at the very beginning that hid the entire damn post. Bah.]

If anyone ever asked Jolee what he did on the days when he wasn't at the bar, he would tell them, "That's not any of your business. Stop asking so many questions." It wasn't as though his free days were interesting in the least. He gardened, he made sure his lightsaber was clean, he worked on some herbal medicines (just in case anyone needed some immediate first aid in the middle of the woods), and he meditated for a couple hours each day.

Tonight was for that last thing. As Jolee meditated, he opened himself up not just to the rest of the island, not just to the planet, not even just to this galaxy. It wasn't as though he could pick out anything specific that was happening anywhere beyond his front yard, but if he pushed himself, he could react out and sense his galaxy. It was nice. It was a reminder of where he came from. It usually made him smile when he pushed himself like this.

But tonight was different. There was a grave disturbance in the Force. There was death where there once was life. It felt as if the Force presence of an entire planet had just disappeared. But that wasn't possible, was it? ... Well, of course it was. With the Force, all things were possible, even if they didn't sound like they would be. But the question was how? Even the destruction of Taris hadn't echoed like this.

"I have a bad feeling about this," Jolee said as he brought himself back from his trance. "Dammit, I can't even get the HoloNet News feed out here to find out what actually happened." And that's why Jolee Bindo was in a bad mood tonight.

[OOC: Establishy. What Jolee sensed is, of course, NFB. Info on what happened (and spoilers for KOTOR II: The Sith Lords) over here.]

Beatles John
Yes, another info post! This one is all about the long-standing karaoke bar known as Caritas. There are just a few important things to note:

All your karaoke questions answered or else! Drinking age! NPCs! Sanctuary! Parties! Employment! )

That's it. Otherwise, it's a bar. They serve drinks and nachos and peanuts and stuff. Questions? Comments?

Well, it seemed that there were undead monsters all over the island. And Jolee happened to live in a hut in the woods, which is EXACTLY the kind of place where undead monsters would check for foolish teenagers who were trying to get away for some kind of hanky panky and thus, a good place to be murdered horribly if you weren't careful.

Actually, the thought of teenagers using his hut for that was more disturbing than the thought of the dead walking once more. But he thought the zombies were a much more realistic concern right now, which was why he was sitting in a lawn chair meditating with his lightsaber by his side instead of his garden hose. Not that the undead couldn't probably do with a high-pressure stream of water to clean them off.

If any teenagers DID try anything right now he would feel bad about decapitating them, of course, but it would be their own damn fault.

[OOC: Open for zombies, teenagers who foolishly want to do stuff in a cabin in the woods while the world is ending, or other visitors.]

Jolee was himself. And this kind of day was exactly the reason he liked to live in the woods. It gave him plenty of distance from any kind of wacky 'people woke up as someone who they didn't go to sleep as' thing.

Yep. Completely isolated from that kind of stuff. Life as a hermit ruled.

[OOC: For one in particular, but otherwise still open. I need to SP in about an hour or two, though.]

Jolee looked up for a moment after finishing a cup of tea. "Huh. That's what it would have been like if I'd gone with the green tea instead of the chai. Hmm. Yep, I made the right call."

[OOC: Yes, that's his IAWL contribution. Yes, I am awfully impressed with myself. I'm going to celebrate with a cookie.]
Heh Heh
"Oh, Mister Biiiiindoooooo," came the call from outside Jolee's door. Jolee merely sat in the middle of his hut, meditating, in touch with the Force.

The Menace tried to open the door, but there was too much resistance. He then went for a window, but couldn't lift it open. He left for a moment and returned with a shovel in an attempt to tunnel under the hut. But every clump of dirt he unearthed was immediately returned to its proper place. The Menace ran at the hut, swinging the shovel at the earthen walls, but before there was contact, the shovel flew from his hands.

"Please let me in!" the Menace called out. Unseen to the tow-headed walking disaster, Jolee smirked. And then the hose turned on, spraying the boy with clean water once again.

Jolee felt the dark presence leave his property. It wasn't quite the same as yelling 'Get off my lawn!' but in some ways, he felt this was more effective.

[OOC: Mostly just to conclude this bitter feud, but open to any passers by.]

Jolee was unsure of many things at the moment. How The Menace got into his hut, for one. How the Menace got his hands on one of Jolee's shotos was another. How there was this much debris in the hut from the Menace's destruction when all Jolee actually had was a bed, some clothes, some weapons, and a mud house was a third thing.

Fortunately it didn't take long to disarm the Menace and levitate him out the window.

"Fandom better win the competition," Jolee muttered as he tried to figure out ways to better secure his hut.

[OOC: Open to anyone who may find their way into Fandom's woods tonight.]
Reaching Out
Jolee had attended the town meeting earlier. People trying to take over the island. That was nothing new. He'd spent most of his life watching or participating in some kind of struggle for power.

He'd also learned that if he minded his business when that kind of ruckus started around here, nothing seemed to happen to him. He didn't get turned into things. Nothing attacked him. He just got to ride it out and maybe lend a hand when it was clearly necessary.

That's why Jolee was spending a nice, quiet night at home with nothing to distract his meditation.

[OOC: For one in particular, but open for other visitors afterwards.]
